Case Study - Coffee Brewing - Create Positive | by Noto

Coffee brewing

In our case study on coffee brewing in partnership with the De’Longhi Group we identified not only major differences between the activity of brewing coffee for oneself, for example in the morning, and brewing coffee for others. But also found out that being part and controlling the process is as pleasurable and important as enjoying the result – a tasty cup of coffee.

Interdental care

Looking into activities in the area of daily dental care, we identified a high potential for enhancing the experience of flossing. Through user interviews, we learned that there is a high desire for better feedback during the activity. Thanks to this learning, it became evident that a more contrasting material e.g. a dark-coloured floss would make the “success” more visible, and thereby fulfil the needs for security, competency as well as physical thriving.

Travelling

In the case study in cooperation with the Lufthansa Innovation Hub we focused on creating a more positive customer experience of travellers. We thereby identified two activities with a high potential to enhance wellbeing – the activity of seeking travel inspiration and journaling while traveling. For both activities we developed concepts and tested prototypes.

Work in motion

To determine potentials how to enhance movement in the work environment, we teamed up with Döllken. What we learned is that a joint lunch break outside the office is not only beneficial to release stress and build stronger bonds between colleagues but can also support to network and break silos across departments. The outcome is the “Pausenwürfel” (break dice) which eases to invite colleagues across departments on a joint break.

From 2015 to 2018, we joined forces with our partners and interactively developed the design and innovation process as a part of the funded project “Design for Wellbeing”.
